These are the people that were building apps when you still had a Nokia 3310. It’s the team that makes websites responsive, users delighted, media pervasive, organizations efficient and brands shine.
We all have mobile in our DNA, check out our stories below.
Pieterjan co – founded In the Pocket and acted as its managing director the first years. Together with Louis & Jeroen he drove the growth of what has become one of the leading mobile agencies in Europe. In his roll as a managing partner he supports the management team in various strategic areas.
From choosing the futurology classes in his Philosophy studies, to starting up large multimedia fairs when he was an event manager, Jeroen has always gravitated towards digital and online.
Jeroen is co-founder of In the Pocket and responsible for product & quality. He has the vision and the drive to get every app or mobile site from good to great. He helps the team to get there.
Louis co – founded In the Pocket and the first 6 months his living room was our office. Together with PJ & Jeroen he drove the growth of what has become one of the leading mobile agencies in Europe. In his roll as a managing partner he supports the management team in various strategic areas.
Peter is known as ‘the allrounder’ at In the Pocket. He is an experienced web developer and comfortable working both front end (UX) and back end. This broad skillset allows him to oversee the production process of the most complex app or website.
He drinks Rodenbach, by the way. If you meet up with Peter in a bar, make sure they have it..
In the Pocket is like a big kitchen where apps are cooked. It’s a place of creativity, experiment and innovation. We deal with pressure and deadlines and we’re constantly improving our product and trying to surprise our customers. But a good restaurant needs more than just cooks, it needs a manager.
Ellen already had an impressive background in management, HR & finance when she first entered the offices. She brings structure and efficiency to the team and to the company. She powers the growth and makes sure that this brilliant “app cuisine” remains a sustainable project.
She also brings a female touch to this mobile men’s world. And who knows, she may even teach the boys some manners.
Christophe is the sort of person who considers it a compliment to be called a geek. He discovered his passion for all things digital while studying abroad, when he started a blog to keep the home front informed of his (mis-) adventures.
Christophe decided to learn the ropes of online business at BEWEB, Belgium’s first and largest online sales house. He then went on to the realm of web apps as a project manager at Netlog, where he quickly evolved into team lead for business operations.
At ItP Christophe heads operations, he keeps the planning tight and gets the projects delivered.
When Lieven started developing software for Mac, Steve Jobs still had hair. 9 years before the dawn of the all-changing iPhone, Lieven was already writing in Objective C. At In the Pocket, he is the chief engineer for all things iPhone and iPad.
After graduating as a bachelor in Computer Sciences, Cliff started working at Netlog where he was responsible for the mobile applications and websites. As a mobile software engineer at ItP, Cliff takes the Android lead. He is a passionate Android developer, with more than a few top ranking apps in the Market. Cliff also has decent iOS and Windows Phone 7 skills.
If you’re looking for a fight, tell Cliff why you think the iPhone is superior to Android devices.
After a first experience as .NET developer (C#) at Strand Associates Lode joined Netlog where he worked his way up to lead developer. At In the Pocket, Lode is iOS- and mobile webdeveloper. Lode feels like a fish the water working both frontend and backend. This broad skillset, combined with a good knowledge of UI and UX, make Lode an authority in his field.
Dries is passionate about Apple and iOS has little secrets for him. In the Pocket is only Dries’ second work place in just as many years, but there’s not much junior about him. The lifecycles of problems tend to shorten drastically when Dries is on the project.
Dries graduated in computer sciences and is iOS developer at In the Pocket.
A keen eye for detail and feeling for a balanced lay-out. That’s what a mobile designer needs. Download some of our apps and check those little drop shadows, those subtle gradients & those tasty textures. They’re what make apps stand out and they have Jessie’s name written all over them.
Jessie is our lead mobile designer.
Maarten is a frontend guy. He creates designs for our apps and web apps, but he also feels perfectly comfortable in HTML5 and CSS. Not many excel in both, but Maarten does.
It doesn’t have to be native to be beautiful, Maarten says. And he’s not talking about women.
Alien studied communication sciences and is marketing assistant at In the Pocket. She divides her time between office management, administration, marcom activities and sales support. And on top of all that, she has to survive the geeky men’s world that is In the Pocket. Good thing she has Jessie to back her up.
Jelle is a Bachelor in Applied Computer Sciences, and was honored as “most promising student” upon graduating. He got his first mobile experience developing the Netlog Android app at Massive Media. After Cliff, Jelle was the second Android-focused developer to join the team. After hours, he is a professional volleyball player. The team spirit and winning mentality of a genuine athlete is very welcome at In the Pocket.
Maarten is a developer. We don’t just mean at In the Pocket – he was born a software engineer. He thinks in code, speaks in objective-C and he answers every question with “42”. Maarten leads the way in the development team and develops both iOS and Android apps.
Jan is business developer. Maybe you feel your company should get more mobile engagement. Maybe you have an app idea but it’s missing something. Maybe you want to extend your services to the mobile channel, but you don’t know how to go about it. Jan does. Call him: 09 234 34 25.
Also, Jan is a reputable DJ and all ITP-customers get him for free at their wedding.
It would be cool if we could tell you that Luis came from Ecuador to Belgium for In the Pocket. Actually, he did it for a girl… Nevertheless, when we heard that this talented Android and iOS developer had moved to Belgium it didn’t take long before Luis was part of the team. And what do you think, does he look like Bruno Mars?
